THE MASTER ANTIOXIDANT
L-Glutathione, or simply glutathione, is a powerful antioxidant comprised of amino acids cysteine, glycine, and glutamic acid. Glutathione has many functions. It is vital to mitochondrial function and necessary to produce DNA. Its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier means it plays an important role in removing toxins, such as mercury, from the brain and other cells. It is key in supporting immune function, metabolism, forming sperm cells, tissue building and repair, and helping with certain enzyme functions.
As a powerful antioxidant, it may help fight the effects of free radicals, which cause oxidative stress, damage healthy cells, and contribute to aging and certain degenerative illnesses. Unlike most antioxidants, glutathione can be made in the human liver. Glutathione can be found in every cell of the human body. It is also found in many foods, including spinach and avocados, but is poorly absorbed by the body when consumed orally. Glutathione levels in the body naturally decline as we age but can also be reduced by factors like stress, malnutrition, and environmental toxins.
Glutathione helps with weight loss because it helps your body shift from fat production to muscle development. It also helps your body burn off fat cells, and it helps your liver remove toxins both of which lead to losing weight.
In addition to helping with weight loss, glutathione has important benefits to your overall health. It helps improve your body’s liver and immune function which helps prevent you from getting sick.
It also improves sleep, memory, muscle recovery, and fights inflammation too. Inflammatory conditions include acne, eczema, rosacea
As if that weren’t enough, glutathione also plays a major role in the health and appearance of your skin. It increases collagen production which results in younger, firmer-looking skin. It can also help fade dark spots from the sun or acne scarring.
If you’re looking for the fountain of youth, Glutathione injections might be a great way to help reduce oxidative stress and fight the signs of aging naturally. And, as it is naturally produced in the liver, it’s a safe ingredient to administer to the body in the form of an injection. In addition to improving the appearance of your skin, the injections can also help treat other medical conditions or ailments as well.
Joint Commission guidelines for proper use of many multi-dose vials include the recommendation to discard the vial 4 weeks after first puncture, even though the Beyond Use Date (BUD) may be longer. These guidelines are generally followed in office and hospital settings, particularly when the vial is used for multiple different patients. However, this same suggestion is made for vials punctured several times a day or only once a week. With certain vial sizes/doses/packages, using all of the medication in the vial without wasting any could result in a patient using the vial for longer than 28 days after first puncture. If you choose to use your vial longer than 28 days after first puncture due to package size or maintenance dosing, you must acknowledge that you understand the Joint Commission recommendations to discard the vial 28 days after first puncture, even if you only puncture the vial once a week. You will be using the vial at your own discretion.
If you have any concerns about this issue and for best safety practices, please choose a 4-week package and discard any medication leftover 28 days after first puncture.
