VIAL CONCENTRATIONS
*Note that with the first vial, the concentration is retatrutide 1mg/0.5ml of medication. You can see above that as you move up in dosage, the amount of retatrutide in each 0.5ml (50 units) increases to match that dose. Each vial has a total of 2ml (200 units) so your dose is always 50 units. DO NOT INCREASE THE NUMBER OF UNITS YOU INJECT WHEN YOU MOVE UP FROM ONE DOSE TO THE NEXT.
DOSING
The standard dose with these vials is always 50units SC once a week, no matter the dose. The higher the dose, the higher the concentration of medication in those 50 units. As described below, some patients may want to inject a half dose (25 units) their first two weeks, then the full dose for 3 weeks with your first order.
Patients should discard their vial after the 4th or 5th puncture and should generally use each vial within 5-6 weeks after first puncture.
WHAT IS THE TRIPLE G INJECTION?
If you keep up with the “latest and greatest” weight loss medications, you have probably heard of the revolutionary new drug currently in phase 3 of clinical trials on the path to FDA approval for treating obesity (called retatrutide or LY3437943 in the studies). We refer to it as the “Triple G” drug because of its action on three different receptors in your body that leads to weight loss: GLP-1, GIP, and GCG receptors.
While Triple G has quickly emerged as an exciting new weight-loss medication, it is important to know that it is NOT an FDA-approved medication yet. Phase 2 trials have been completed, however, and the results have been nothing but amazing. The study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), included 338 adults with obesity or overweight.
Retatrutide Availability
As mentioned above, retatrutide is still undergoing clinical trials before it can be FDA-approved. It is currently in phase 3, but it still could be a few years before it is available commercially as a brand name medication. This means that it will be a while before you can pick this up at your local pharmacy (like Wegovy or Zepbound).
However, some compounding pharmacies are now offering compounded retatrutide. They are able to source this Triple G peptide from the same reputable sources where they obtain semaglutide and tirzepatide. I am now able to provide this medication to select patients.
2) CATEGORY TWO
Patients with a CURRENT BMI of 30-39 (or 27+ with risk factors of high blood pressure, high cholesterol/lipids, or sleep apnea) who have stalled on tirzepatide therapy may qualify as follows to begin Triple G:
PLEASE NOTE: These BMI requirements are starting requirements only, similar to tirzepatide and semaglutide. You will still be eligible for the medication after your BMI falls below the initial criteria when you lose weight from using your medication.
***IF YOUR CURRENT BMI DOES NOT MEET EITHER OF THE ABOVE CRITERIA, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO START TRIPLE G AT THIS TIME.***
Current Pricing for each 4-week vial from Striker (5 weeks if halving the dose for the first two weeks as above when first switching over)*:
*Please note that all prices are subject to change at any time. As the Triple G injections becomes more popular, the API sources where compounding pharmacies obtain the source ingredients will likely raise their prices, which in turn raises everyone’s price.
