WI: Empower has temporarily suspended shipping of all products to the state of WI due to licensing delays.
This product ships to you from Empower Pharmacy. Please allow 10-14 business days for shipping. The medication will need to be refrigerated after arrival, so please place it in the refrigerator when you receive it. Please read ALL INFORMATION before proceeding.
Because this medication comes in two different strengths, it is going to require you to be knowledgeable about dosing and following dosing tables and directions.

IMPORTANT INFO
1) It is very important that you understand that there are TWO different vial sizes with two different strengths from Empower for this product. You must pay attention to the DOSING GUIDE HERE and also the directions on your vial. When you switch from one vial to another, the number of units you inject will change!
*Do not make the mistake and inject the wrong amount, or you can become VERY sick! For example, with the weaker vial, 5mg is 62.5 units. However, on the stronger vial, 62.5 units would be 10.6mg, over twice as much!
2) Although your vial may have a Beyond Use Date (BUD) several months in the future (if left unpunctured in your refrigerator), the vials are designed to be discarded 28-35 days after the first puncture. Therefore, I have restructured the packages to enable each vial to be used for 4 punctures, or a 4-weeks supply. The only exception is 12.5mg dose, which has 5 doses in the vial you are sent.
3) The 2.5mg, 5mg, and 10mg doses will use one concentration vial. The 7.5mg, 12.5mg, and 15mg dose will use a more concentrated vial.
4) Please only order the dose you plan to take to avoid any confusion with dosing. Please only select one of the packages if you plan to continue with that dose for the duration of the package.
5) You may order up to 12 weeks at a time of the 5mg and higher doses. There are package discounts if ordering more than 4 weeks of the same dose.
6) Some of the doses are odd unit doses and it may be difficult to draw up the exact dose in your syringe. However, you will be fine if your dose is off a few units. Just round up or round down.
7) The 10mg dose is 125 units and can be uncomfortable if injected all at once in the same spot. Also, the standard insulin syringes only hold 100 units. So, you would inject the dose in two separate 62.5 units (or 60 units and 65 units) in two different locations on your body. You could also use 100units and 25 units or 75 units and 50 units. As long as you inject a total of 125 units, you may use any two separate doses.
8) Empower products have a shorter BUD in the past. Due to this, you may order up to 2 packages at a time by adding 2 to your cart.
STANDARD PROTOCOL FOR TZ (SEE BELOW FOR CHARTS):
Month 1: Inject 2.5 weekly X 4 weeks
Month 2: Inject 5mg weekly X 4 weeks
Month 3: Inject 7.5mg weekly X 4 weeks
Month 4: Inject 10mg weekly X 4 weeks
Month 5: Inject 12.5mg weekly X 4 weeks
Month 6+: Inject 15mg weekly
***You should only move up if you feel you have stalled on a certain dose; moving up to the next dose is an option and not required. For instance, patients on the starting dose may decide to remain on that dose after they complete the first 4 weeks. Please notify us of any changes you make to your dosing that differ from what is prescribed.
**If you are having a lot of side effects with a particular dose, I would recommend not moving up until the side effects lessen.
***Although many people like to stick to the same pharmacy when they reorder, you may order from any pharmacy available for your state. However, please note that the formulations are different across pharmacies, and the units you use for a particular dose may change drastically with a new pharmacy. Please pay careful attention to your vial and refer here for correct dosing.

1) 2.5mg X 4 weeks*
8mg/2mg/ml 2.5ml (ONE vial): Inject 2.5mg of TZ (31 units) subcutaneously once a week for 4 weeks. $310
*Please note that you will have medication left in your vial after using the medication for 4 weeks because the medication should be discarded after about 28 days. To avoid wasting medication, I will allow patients who are doing well on the 2.5 dose with no side effects to move up to the 5mg dose (62.5 units) with this vial for the 3rd and/or 4th injection. This is also a great option for patients who have taken a medication break and are wanting to build back up to the higher doses more quickly.

Niacinamide is one form of vitamin B3 (niacin) that plays an important role in energy metabolism and cell health. It may offer benefits related to skin care and skin cancer, as well as chronic kidney disease and type 1 diabetes.
Niacinamide, niacin, and nicotinamide are closely related terms that are often wrongly used interchangeably the context of skincare and health. Niacin, is also a form of Vitamin B3 and is actually the parent compound of niacinamide. When taken orally, your body can convert niacin into niacinamide. Their effects on the body can also be quite different. For instance, niacin might cause skin flushing which is not typically seen with niacinamide. On the other hand, nicotinamide is simply another name for niacinamide.
Available as a topical version of vitamin D3, niacinamide is one of the many active ingredients in skin-care products. It is used most commonly in an anti-aging, anti-acne, and skin brightening formulations
Joint Commission guidelines for proper use of many multi-dose vials include the recommendation to discard the vial 4 weeks after first puncture, even though the Beyond Use Date (BUD) may be longer. These guidelines are generally followed in office and hospital settings, particularly when the vial is used for multiple different patients. However, this same suggestion is made for vials punctured several times a day or only once a week. With certain vial sizes/doses/packages, using all of the medication in the vial without wasting any could result in a patient using the vial for longer than 28 days after first puncture. If you choose to use your vial longer than 28 days after first puncture due to package size or maintenance dosing, you must acknowledge that you understand the Joint Commission recommendations to discard the vial 28 days after first puncture, even if you only puncture the vial once a week. You will be using the vial at your own discretion.
If you have any concerns about this issue and for best safety practices, please choose a 4-week package and discard any medication leftover 28 days after first puncture.
